This is a drink recipe developed by Genevieve Keller for The Brixyard for the Cocktail of the Month series
February, often associated with romance and cozy winter evenings, is the perfect time to indulge in a non-alcoholic cocktail that captures the essence of the month.
This is where the “Berry Rendezvous” comes in – a delightful, effervescent, and heartwarming mocktail.
Perfect for celebrating love, whether it’s Valentine’s Day, a special occasion, or just a regular day made special! Featuring the vibrant flavors of mixed berries and the subtle warmth of cinnamon, this drink is not only delicious but also visually stunning, making it an ideal choice for those special February moments.
Berry Rendezvous
Ingredients
- 1 cup mixed berries (like strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries)
- 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- Sparkling water or club soda
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the mixed berries, honey or agave, and cinnamon stick. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down and form a syrup. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Once cooled, strain the mixture to remove the solid bits, keeping the berry syrup.
Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour about 2-3 tablespoons of the berry syrup over the ice.
Top the glass with sparkling water or club soda, filling it to the brim.
Gently stir to mix the syrup and sparkling water.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
Serve immediately and enjoy a refreshing, berry-filled toast to the month of love!
